James Martin was left trying to "track down" his guest after they went missing during filming for his ITV Saturday Morning show.

The TV chef was cooking up a storm for guest Gabrielle with fellow cooks Richard Corrigan and Nick Nairn. But when 54-year-old James was set to be joined by Richard Corrigan, he announced he couldn't find him.

Introducing the segment, he said: "Welcome back... we've still got a Thai green curry coming for my guest Gabrielle," adding: "Richard has gone walkabout somewhere. We'll try and track him down later in the show. But I'm going to get a taste of the Highlands from a good mate of mine... Nick Nairn."

After the next break, James had managed to find his wandering guest, and Richard was back on set with Gabrielle. He said: "Welcome back to the show - I've got all my guests back. Richard, Nick and Gabrielle," before they began to prepare the Thai Green curry that had been promised.

Recently, James 'banned' Michelin-starred chef Glynn Purnell from his show, after he made an embarrassing blunder while cooking together. While the pair were cooking, both Glynn and James struggled to find the spoon they had used for tasting their dish, before Glynn eventually realised that one of the spoons had actually fallen into the sauce he was making.

He casually said: "I've lost a spoon in there chef but I'm sure we'll dig it out eventually," before finding that another one had fallen in the dish. "That one's gone in there again chef, want to grab that one out for me," he added. James and Glynn were in hysterics, before James joked that he wouldn't be asking Glynn to come back onto the show any time in the future. James joked: "This is Glynn Purnell - this is the first and the last time you'll see him."

But all was forgotten, with the pair cracking on with the cooking - James saying Glynn's dish was delicious. Fans also shared their joy at watching the duo together on social media. One person wrote: "Don’t normally watch morning cookery shows but was drooling over the ribs with mussels @JamesMartin Saturday Kitchen served up by Glynn Purnell today!" As a second commented: "Enjoyed watching @yummy_brummie on James Martin’s Saturday Morning @jamesmartinchef The two of you were hilarious and informative in equal measure."

Elsewhere, James recently issued an update on his health, after revealing last year that he had been diagnosed with cancer on his face. Appearing on ITV's Lorraine he was asked if he was "good" as he said: "Yes, the stitches have fallen out, as you know, the last time you were on, I was in the middle of operations. As we speak, the stitches have fallen out of my body at the moment and that's all clear, onwards and upwards!" with Lorraine replying: "I'm really pleased, it's great great news!"
