Davina McCall had the time of her life as she wowed clubbers by recreating an iconic Dirty Dancing move.

The Long Lost Family presenter took a running leap and launched herself into the arms of pal Pearse Egan while her boyfriend Michael Douglas watched in amazement.

Davina, 53, and budding actor and comedian Pearse, 32, became friends after she helped him find his long-lost father in New York.

And she went to his first live stand-up gig and threw herself into his arms – like Jennifer Gray did with Patrick Swayze to the tune Time Of My Life in the 1987 film – to congratulate him afterwards.

Dublin-born Pearse, who had no idea the former Big Brother presenter was going to be there, said: “When I saw her in the audience I almost passed out.

"It was crazy but so typical of her to be there to support me. The Dirty Dancing thing has become something between us.

“You grow close to someone who is helping you find your father and she did that one day when we got some good news during the search and she has kept on doing it.”

The audience at London’s All Star Lanes club applauded wildly when Pearse asked her to “do your Dirty Dancing routine” and she played along. Pearse, who lives in south London, added: “Davina loves that movie and Patrick Swayze. I mean, who doesn’t?”

They met in 2018 when he wrote to ITV’s Long Lost Family.

Pearse had been brought up in Dublin by his mother Ann, who had him after a fling in New York.

There was little detail on his father other than that he lived there and was Brazilian. But researchers traced him and Pearse was able to meet his 65-year-old dad Eddie Santos for the first time.
