A huge BBC star got married in Spain on Saturday.

After a three-year engagement, Scott Mills has tied the knot with his fiancé Sam Vaughan in Barcelona. The Radio 2 star was joined by his station pal Zoe Ball, and of course his former Radio 1 co-host Chris Stark for the sun-kissed ceremony.

The 51-year-old TV and radio legend and his audio producer partner got engaged back in 2021 after being together for four years. He's been taking some time out of work in recent weeks, with the pair jetting between Spain and the UK to iron out their big day. Speaking about the big day, Scott told the Mirror and other press: "We both had the most incredible day. To celebrate with all our close friends and family in Spain was so special. We are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together."

Scott's close friend and former co-star Chris Stark provided Master of Ceremony duties at the nuptials at Xalet Del Nin, a villa facing the Balearic sea on the coast near Barcelona. Meanwhile, pop star Pixie Lott sang How Long Will I Love You during the ceremony, while Geordie Shore star Joel Corry kept guests entertained into the early hours at the wedding reception.

His friend and former X Factor star Rylan even threw him a pre-wedding party on the airwaves last week in the run-up to Saturday's celebration. Scott and Sam have shared the process on their social media sites, uploading snaps from menu tastings and visits.

"Let's jet off to get married then @realscottmills," Sam shared before the weekend, attaching a picture from what looked to be an airport lounge, clutching a glass of Prosecco before the pair jetted off to Barcelona. Confirming her attendance, Zoe uploaded a similar snap, writing: "it's happening", tagging both Scott and Sam.

She also revealed she was attending on her breakfast show, telling listeners: "So this weekend our boy Scott Mills is getting married, to our friend Sam who often works on the breakfast show. So excited to watch them walking down the aisle.

"They are gorgeous, gorgeous boys," she said. Chris, who now works at Capital FM, also confirmed his attendance, uploading a picture of the sunset in Barcelona on Friday. He worked alongside Scott during their stint together at BBC Radio 1.

Last October, almost a year on from his Radio 1 exit, Scott, opened up to the Mirror about his departure, which saw him cry live on air during his last show with Chris. He said: "Weird, I remember the last show, there was such a build-up and there's lots of surprises that they don't tell you about. Had a little cry at the end of the show which I've never done before, it's never happened, not that there's anything wrong with it."

"It really got me at the end, we had a big party and I woke up the next day and I was like 'That's it', when you're in the final throws of it, it doesn't feel like it's ending and then it just stops." He likened his departure to his time on Strictly Come Dancing in 2014. "It's the same, we're all this big happy family, then you get knocked out and it's like 'Right, where are we training on Monday morning?' It takes a while to get your head around."
