Adele has failed to sell out her European comeback tour as fans fear she may pull out of gigs at the last minute.

Tickets for her 10-date Adele In Munich gigs went on sale two weeks ago and apparently extra dates were added “due to unprecedented demand”. Yet thousands of tickets remain available for the dates listed on Ticketmaster from August 2 to August 31.

It comes after Adele was forced to pull out of some of her Las Vegas residency gigs, which were due to take place this month. Apologising for the ‘inconvenience’ in a statement on Instagram on February 28, the 35-year-old wrote: “Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency. I was sick at the end of last leg and all through the break.

“I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again and unfortunately it’s taken a toll on my voice. And so on doctor’s orders I’ve had to rest thoroughly. The remaining five weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date. We are already working out the details and you will be sent the information asap.”

But fans have already begged her not to postpone any more gigs as they have lost money not only in tickets, but hundreds of pounds they have forked out on flights and accommodation to see the Somebody Like You singer live.

One wrote: “Don’t postpone Munich please. I spent a lot on accommodation and flight tickets.” Another fumed: “Adele fks her fans again out of sheer laziness and excuses. All those people who work hard and booked vacations to see her now getting screwed.” A third chimed in: “Any updates soon? We need to plan and it’s impossible to do if we don’t have new dates. Leaving us in limbo is unfair.”

While a fourth said: “Postponing is a legal loophole so you don’t have to refund tickets. Do the right thing and just cancel shows so people can get their money back! I am coming from England, will still enjoy the weekend but no way will I return again for a rescheduled concert!”

Adele is set to play a string of gigs in Germany’s Munich singing outdoors at a bespoke open-air arena large enough to fit 80,000 fans each night. But some fans have branded her “greedy” after discovering how much tickets cost. Premier sets are billed at £984 - and even the cheapest remaining tickets will set fans back £280 after all the £60 tickets sold out.

The Munich concerts are the first gigs on mainland Europe Adele has performed for eight years. Revealing why she chose to host the gigs there, Adele explained: “So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows. I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans. However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea - a one off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on? Ohh!? Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich?

“That’s a bit random, but still fabulous! Right after the Euros? Come on England! With the Olympics next door? Go on Simone! And some of my favourite artists playing shows too? Why…YES!! I haven’t played in Europe since 2016! I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer. Guten Tag babes.”
