Man Wanted in Connection with Murder of Shelson Jules of Waltham Located

Arraignment Scheduled for Friday, October 6

WALTHAM -  Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Waltham Chief of Police Kevin O'Connell have announced that Josh Pierre, 21 of Waltham, has been located in Florida and placed under arrest in connection with the murder of Shelson Jules that occurred in May of this year.  He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, October 6, 2023, in Waltham District Court on the charges of murder and possession of a firearm.

Shortly after 1:29 a.m. on May 22, 2023, Josh Pierre and other individuals allegedly traveled to Lyman Street in the area of Faneuil Road in Waltham to meet the victim, Shelson Jules.  After a brief exchange,  Pierre allegedly fired several shots fatally striking the victim twice from behind before fleeing the scene. In July of 2023, police were able to identify Pierre as the alleged shooter and charge him in connection with the murder. Over the course of the investigation, Pierre allegedly took numerous steps to evade capture before he was ultimately located in Miramar, Florida.  He was arrested on September 22, 2023, without incident with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and the United States Marshals Task Force in Miramar, Florida.

This case is being investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Waltham Police.  The prosecutors assigned to this case are Graham Van Epps and Terry Kiernan.
