Working with our partners, JFF designed and drove the adoption of innovative and scalable education and career training models and systems. They also develop and advocate for the federal and state policies needed to support these solutions.
Partnering with the Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, JFF led the TAACCCT Learning Network, an initiative to provide comprehensive technical assistance to TAACCCT grantees. The TAACCCT Learning Network expanded on the technical assistance that is currently provided by Creative Commons, CAST, and CalState/Merlot and added new services and support provided by JFF with its partners Maher & Maher and the American Association of Community College, and the National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education Centers.
National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), endeavors to create a sustainable and enabling skill ecosystem in India. In order to foster skill development across the country, NSDC provides funding support to enterprises, companies and organizations to build capacity by extending resources, technical assistance, thought leadership and knowledge management. MERLOT and SkillsCommons are partnering with NSDC to provide free educational and career training curriculum to support NSDC's goals.
Nearpod, an interactive instructional platform that gives educators real-time insights into student learning, has expanded its content offering to include higher education and launched more than 350+ new ancillary learning materials and videos in partnership with OpenStax. Nearpod's OER content will help universities provide high-quality ancillary materials to accompany OER textbooks with the option to include cornerstone engagement features and formative assessments. By transforming the openly licensed content with presentations that are structured to keep students engaged, educators will have a greater ability to interact with and differentiate instruction for their students, while keeping course material costs low.
