SAN JOSE – Trailers, boxes of books and wooden pallets were burned in a fire Friday afternoon at a Goodwill of Silicon Valley location in San Jose, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the location at 1080 North 7th St. around 1:45 p.m., according to the San Jose Fire Department.

“Multiple trailers, boxes of books and wooden pallets are involved,” the agency said in a social media post.

No structures were threatened by the blaze.

One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion, according to the fire department.

Firefighters had their hands full again around 6:20 p.m., when a second-alarm vegetation fire ignited near Garcal Drive and Kenny Lane. The blaze threatened multiple structures, but was contained to one acre and knocked down just before 7 p.m.
