Mountain Mike’s continued expansion is proof that you can always count on pizza during a pandemic.
The SoCal-based chain has announced the opening of its fifth location in Oakland — this one near the Oakland Arena — and the third new Mountain Mike’s Pizza to open amid the pandemic.
Pizzas, including those topped with Mike’s famous crispy, curly pepperoni, bone-in wings, garlic sticks and more are available via delivery and carryout, of course.
“Although we’re not able to open our dining rooms just yet, we are proud to begin serving Mountain Mike’s signature pizzas to the Oakland community in the safest way possible,” said Bhimsen Khadka, one of three franchise partners of the new Mountain Mike’s Pizza, in a press release.
That includes enhanced levels of safety, like tamper-proof packaging, contactless delivery and, of course, the health and safety guidelines set by the CDC. Despite the many restaurants closing in Oakland, this opening will provide some much-needed confidence in the future of the local economy, they said.
