OAKLAND — A 25-year-old man fatally shot Saturday morning in an Eastlake district hotel parking lot was identified by police Thursday as Kendrick Riley.
Police have not released a motive yet for the killing and have not announced any arrests.
Riley, of Oakland, was shot at about 12:03 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Americas Best Value Inn, 122 East 12th Street, a short distance from Lake Merritt.
Riley had just gotten into his car when he was shot by someone outside the vehicle. He died at the scene.
Police were told Riley had registered at the hotel the day before.
