UPDATED:

Happy Blursday, everyone! The weekend is almost upon us, and you know what that means for us quarantined folks: Cocktail hour quarantinis, of course. But also cinematic acrobatics, delicious snacks and — gasp! — some very fun Bay Area spots that have reopened. Here are seven fab ways to play this weekend.

(And if you want to get the Weekender newsletter delivered directly to your inbox every Thursday morning, just sign up here.)

1 GO: To the drive-in!

Yes, drive-in movie theaters — those nostalgic relics from an era gone by — are open again, offering one of the few prospects for those craving a night out of the house. Here’s where and how to go to one in the Bay Area (and where to pick up pizza beforehand).

2 SEE: Cirque du Soleil online

The renowned Canadian circus troupe is doing its best to make sure you remember how much fun its shows are, with a constantly updated collection of streaming specials. Cirque just added a “greatest hits” film and a look at what goes “Behind the Curtain.” Here’s how you can watch.

3 EAT: Grilled cheese sammies

Craving some molten, cheesy deliciousness? Gaby Dalkin, of “What’s Gaby Cooking?” Insta fame, has a new cookbook out, and it includes a Bacon, Cheddar and Tomato Grilled Cheese Sandwich that is all kinds of yummy. You need one right now. (Also delish: Her M&M-studded Dad’s Kitchen Sink Cookies. Mmmmm.)

4 SEE: Daveed Diggs in a new sci-fi thriller

Before Korean director Bong Joon Ho surprised the world by winning the best picture Oscar for “Parasite,” he made an equally provocative film about a train ride from hell. Now Oakland’s Daveed Diggs is starring in a TV version of “Snowpiercer” that premieres this weekend. (Psst, here’s what he has to say about it.)

5 SIP: A Quarantini

Sure, a quarantini is just a regular martini but you sip it at home — alone. But it doesn’t have to be, not when the epidemiologists and founders of This Podcast Will Kill You have spent three seasons whipping up quarantinis and non-alcoholic placeboritas to accompany their shows.

6 SEE: CAAMFest online

San Francisco’s acclaimed Asian-American film festival, CAAMFest, has been postponed until October because of the pandemic. But the Center for Asian American Media is sharing some of the event’s content — documentaries, musicals, virtual parties — online, and it tops our list of films to stream this week.

7 GO REMOTELY: Virtual Yosemite

OK, so the National Parks are shuttered. But we can visit vicariously via a virtual jaunt to Yosemite, complete with webcams and fascinating videos and podcasts — and a downloadable activity kit for kids that’s all kinds of adorable.
