The West High baseball team rolled past Edison in two Tri-City Athletic League games by a combined 41-0 score.

In a 22-0 win over Edison, Jacob Lopez (2 for 3, double) and Jordan Devencenzi (3 for 5) each had four RBIs. Steven Gonsalvez (2 for 2), Andrew Watson (2 for 3) and Johnny Gori (2 for 4) knocked in three runs apiece. Jonathan Townsend (3 for 3) and Taylor Worley both added two RBIs.

In the 19-0 victory, the Wolf Pack scored nine runs in the first inning and eight in the third.

In a 12-6 nonleague loss to Foothill, West’s Townsend blasted a two-run home run, Watson knocked in two runs and Devencenzi (2 for 3) one.

Tracy picked up a pair of San Joaquin Athletic Association wins over Franklin.

In a 7-2 win over the Yellowjackets, the Bulldogs’ Tanner Turner went 3 for 4 with a double, and Tyler Trew (2 for 3, double), Devon Denholm (2 for 3), Matt Loscavio (2 for 4), Jonathan Combs (2 for 4), Jake Shull and Kyle Moses each had an RBI.

The Bulldogs also rolled to a 9-1 win. Tyler Sanfilippo knocked in two runs, and Denholm (double), John Jaeger, Josh Wesely, Moses and Turner had an RBI apiece.

Softball

Kimball, a first-year varsity team, closed out its final week of Valley Oak League play, going 2-1 and clinching a playoff spot.

Alexis Lopez allowed two hits in a four-inning, 11-0 win over Weston Ranch. The Jaguars scored six runs in the second inning, with Arianna Hawkins (double, four RBIs) and Katie Hanville (RBI) both going 2 for 3. Danielle Lallos added a double.

Kimball routed Lathrop 12-1. Kimball’s Llesenia Torres (double, triple, RBI) and Kate Bomar (two RBIs) each went 3 for 5 for the Jaguars.

Hawkins (2 for 4, three RBIs) and Anisha Richardson (four RBIs) each had a home run, Montanna Bradley and Gabbi Cox were each 2 for 3 with an RBI and Samantha Sanders tripled.

Oakdale scored two in the sixth inning to break a tie and beat Kimball 3-1. Hawkins (double, triple) and Bomar were each 2 for 4 and Hanville was 2 for 3.

Tracy scored two in the eighth inning and held on to defeat the Trojans 4-3.

Brianna Warner (3 for 4, triple), Loran Saenz (2 for 4) and Alexandra Rodriguez (double) each had two RBIs for the Bulldogs, and Taylor Martinez and Jasmin Guevara were each 2 for 4.

Ellie Fisher was 3 for 3 with two RBIs and Saenz (double) 2 for 2 with three RBIs to lead Tracy to a 15-2 win over Franklin. Angela Mariani (2 for 4, triple) knocked in three runs, and Guevara (double) two.

West posted two big TCAL wins to stay tied for first place with St. Mary’s entering the last week of league play.

The Wolf Pack racked up 10 first-inning runs on the way to a 13-2 win over Stagg. Jamie Costa (home run) and Ashley Tornio (2 for 2, double) had three RBIs each and Ciara Ervin two.

In an 8-2 win over Edison, Costa (RBI) tripled and Tornio (2 for 4) doubled. Jill Anastasio went 2 for 2 and Jocelyn Lee, Ervin and Madison Hargraves each had an RBI.

Tracy Little League

Garrett Cichella struck out 13 and allowed just four hits to lead the Giants to a 5-1 win over the Angels in major division action.

Bryce Keeney picked up two strikeouts in an inning of relief and struck out two and had a double with two RBIs. Justin Schober added an RBI double and Michael Mendiola led off the third inning with a triple.
