Steve Sampson and Martcia Perez were united in marriage Oct. 10, 2010 at Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco.
The groom is the son of the Late Frances (Peewee) and Evelyn Sampson, the brother of the late Big Lou and John Sampson.
His father has a plaque on the pier dedicated to him by the city of Pacifica for all his dedication and being the longest employee of the city.
A 1979 graduate of Oceana High School, best known for his dedication to playing softball in his younger days, Steve has been employed with Elwell Trucking for the last 16 years.
The bride is the mother of Edward and Elena Calvillo both graduates from St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco. Edward is married and living in Denmark and Elena graduated from Seattle University with a B.A in Journalism/Public Relations and is currently doing event marketing in Novato and living in San Francisco. Martcia had the honor of having her son give her away and her daughter as her maid of honor.
The bride also in 1979 graduated from Oceana High School and retired after 30 years from AT&T. She now has a second career as a Supervisor with Matrix Medical Network.
Bride and groom never met in high school. It wasn’t until their 10-year high school reunion they were introduced and dated for awhile, then went their separate ways.
Then 20 years later at the 30 year high school reunion they reunited and married a year later. They now reside in his family home in Sharp Park in Pacifica.
