TWO LINDA MAR CENTER store employees were confronted with an armed robber last Sunday night. Two Ross employees had just finished work at about 10:30 p.m. and were walking to their cars parked between Hallmark and the taqueria when they were confronted by a man who pulled a gun on them. He demanded they let him into the Ross store and open the safe for him. When they convinced him they were unable to re-enter the store, the man fled on foot eastbound toward McDonald’s. Neither employee was injured. The suspect is described as an African American male, about 5 foot 10, wearing dark clothing and a hat with the word “security” printed on the front. A possibly associated vehicle seen in the are was a white Scion sedan with a red auto dealership plate insert. The car was last seen leaving the area eastbound through the parking lot on the east side of the shopping center. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed this incident or who has further information is encouraged to contact Pacifica Police.

A THIEF USED a hammer to break the window of a vehicle parked in a carport at an apartment complex on the 400 block of Gateway Drive. The incident happened overnight May 7. The resident lost a $200 gold rosary chain, $150 Giants jacket and two pairs of shoes.

A DAVIS man was in Pacifica attending the Fog Classic soccer tournament at Ingrid B. Lacy on Palmetto. He parked across the street from the school in order to work as a referee for the game. When he returned the laptop computer he left in the backseat of his vehicle was gone.

A RESIDENT who lives on Johnson Avenue reported hearing rocks being thrown at his house, one of which cracked a back bedroom window. The man told police he was home on the afternoon of May 9 when he heard a loud bang at his window. He went into his backyard and noticed someone had thrown a rock. He told authorities he’s been having an ongoing problem with students at Ocean Shore School throwing things at his house. School authorities told police they are aware of the problem and working to provide closer supervision during recesses.

SOMEONE vandalized the greenhouses at the Sanchez Art Center grounds. Two slashes were discovered the greenhouse which is the farthest one east on the property. Both inner and outer walls were slashed sometime overnight April 30. Nothing appears to have been taken from inside the greenhouse.

A THIEF smashed a window on a car parked on the 1000 block of Fassler Avenue sometime overnight April 27. The culprit made off with a briefcase with documents, a work ID and keys.

ASSORTED motorcycle equipment was stolen from a motorcycle utility trailer parked on the street on the 1500 block of Rosita Road. The incident happened in the early morning hours of April 7. The thief made off with three motorcycle helmets, chest protectors and a tool bag, a loss of some $1,650 to the owner.

SOMEONE crept into a residential RV through an unsecured window on the afternoon of April 29. The RV was parked at the RV Park along a public path. The thief climbed in through the window and stole some $5,000 worth of jewelry. The owners were in town visiting from Idaho. A couple from South Dakota also had property taken from their RV sometime on the afternoon of April 29. Again, the suspect climbed into the RV through an unlocked window and made off with jewelry and a digital camera, a loss of about $1,800.

TWO ORNAMENTAL gargoyles were stolen from a residence on the 1000 block of Rainier Avenue. The residents noticed a light-colored vehicle driving slowly in the area but were not sure if it was associated.

A VEHICLE parked on the 1000 block of Fassler was targeted by a thief who broke a car window and stole a cell phone that was visible inside. The incident happened overnight April 27.

AN UNLOCKED vehicle parked on the 300 block of Gateway Drive proved too tempting for a thief who stole two wedding rings, computer, camcorder and money that was inside. The theft was reported April 26 and total loss is close to $7,000. A thief smashed the window of a vehicle parked in a carport at a Higgins apartment and stole four gift cards. They also took a gas can that contained gasoline. The incident happened during the day on Easter Sunday. Various medical supplies were taken when a thief smashed a window of a car parked in the parking lot at St. Peter Church, also Easter while the owner was attending church.

THERE HAVE BEEN several online reports filed by citizens notifying police of slashed and/or punctured tires on their vehicles. One Arguello resident reported a slashed tire and noted several similar incidents in the neighborhood at about the same time late last month.

SOMEONE vandalized the vegetable and flower garden at the rear of Sunset Ridge School over a period of a week. The custodial staff noticed some of the flower beds were destroyed and flowers and vegetables pulled out from their roots. The damage is estimated at $500.

A THIEF removed a rear window latch of a vehicle parked on the 1600 block of Higgins, stole a leather bag, cash and credit cards and used the cards to make purchases illegally. The owner was away from the vehicle at the time hiking in the area. Possible suspects are described as two young men in their mid to late 20s.

GRAFFITI was spraypainted on the racquet ball court wall at Ocean Shore School. The culprit used white paint to write “Smoke Weed.”
