Nguyen was a three-event individual champion and also was on a winning relay team at the El Camino Division championships, helping the Falcons edge regular-season champion Wilcox and earn a league co-championship. Nguyen won the long jump (17 feet, 10 inches) and triple jump (36-61/4), and took the 100-meter dash with a personal-best time of 12.47 seconds. She also ran the third leg of the 400 relay team. “She got us a lot of points,” Saratoga coach Archie Ljepava said. “Right now, she’s peaking all the way around.” Nguyen qualified for the state meet in the long and triple jumps as a freshman but struggled with injuries as a sophomore. She has come back strong and ranks among the CCS leaders in all three of her individual events.
