OAKLAND — The community is invited to attend ArtEsteem’s 13th free annual art exhibit, reception and art sale Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at Studio One Art Center, 365 45th St., Oakland.

The annual show, “Reflections of Me and My World” showcases the thoughtful and provocative visual and performing art created by ArtEsteem students aged 6 to 18. The students receive 20 percent of the proceeds from the sale of their art.

This year Super Hero awards will be awarded to Anita Siegel, director Alameda County Public Health Department, and Gay Plair Cobb, CEO of the Private Industry Council for their extraordinary work to help people in these very challenging times.

ArtEsteem is a program of the Attitudinal Healing Connection in West Oakland. The yearlong program actively engages and challenges young people to think of themselves, family and community in positive ways, and to find solutions to personal and societal problems constructive and nonviolent ways.
