‘I Was Flabbergasted’: Tomi Lahren Speaks Out on Backlash to Abortion Remarks, Lawsuit on Nightline

Tonight ABC’s Nightline profiled Tomi Lahren, who opened up about all the controversy over her abortion remarks and her lawsuit against TheBlaze and Glenn Beck.

Last week Lahren filed a lawsuit against Beck for wrongful termination. You’ll recall that Lahren was off the air just days after she revealed on The View that she’s pro-choice.

Byron Pitts spoke with Lahren, who talked about how “flabbergasted” she was when she found out her show was being suspended for a week.

“This is not about politics,” she said. “This is about someone who had an opposing viewpoint that has been silenced and sidelined and thrown away.”

She also had this to say:

“Something has been stripped from me, and that’s my ability to work, that’s my ability to have a voice. And that’s been taken from me, wrongfully. So I’m upset by it and I’m hurt by it and I feel betrayed by it.”

Lahren is accusing Beck and others of a “smear campaign” against her, alleging that she saw a lot of commentary about her appearance on The View but that she “wasn’t allowed to respond to those, I was silenced.”

Beck addressed Lahren’s pro-choice remarks on his radio show, saying he has no problem with bringing on people who hold that viewpoint but disagreeing on the idea that “you’re a hypocrite if you want limited government and yet you want the government to protect life of the unborn.”

TheBlaze said in a statement responding to her lawsuit, “It is puzzling that an employee who remains under contract (and is still being paid) has sued us for being fired, especially when we continue to comply fully with the terms of our agreement with her.”

One of the issues here is Lahren losing control of her Facebook page, something ABC News legal analyst and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams addresses in the Nightline piece.

Lahren also opened up about stirring up controversy with her commentary, especially what she’s had to say about Colin Kaepernick and the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

After the piece aired, Lahren tweeted this out:
