Brit Hume Accuses Pro-Palestine Protesters of Being ‘Pro-Hamas’: ‘Who Runs the Palestinian Authority Now in Gaza?’

Fox News chief political analyst Brit Hume accused pro-Palestine protesters of being “pro-Hamas” on Monday and claimed anti-Semitism is at “the root” of demonstrations against the bombing of Palestinian civilians.

“We saw that hideous incident yesterday in Russia where that plane landed and was greeted by a mob shouting for the heads of the Jews, but then the American college campuses, and elsewhere in this country, we see this,” said Hume on Fox News’ Special Report with Bret Baier in response to pro-Palestine protests on college campuses.

He continued:

You know I thought, to me, anti-Semitism was something that many, many years ago in this country was kind of common. It was casual, but it was widespread. I thought it had become a sentiment that you never wanted to be caught dead expressing, even no matter what you felt. That it was unacceptable, taboo! I guess not, because what we’re seeing now is a lot more of it than I ever imagined even existed, and the college administrators have been very tepid in many of their responses to this.

There is that scene at Harvard where you saw quite an outpouring of pro-Hamas sentiment. Now they all say they’re for the Palestinians, but who runs Palestine— who runs the Palestinian authority now in Gaza? Hamas, of course. Hamas is the source of the casualty figures and all the rest of it.

Hume concluded, “So these are pro-Hamas and I think one has to look at anti-Semitism as being the root of it.”

This month, students at Harvard staged a peaceful walkout demonstration in solidarity with Palestinians and held a banner that read, “Stop the Genocide in Gaza.”

Harvard students also held a vigil for the Palestinian children killed as a result of Israel’s airstrike campaign in Gaza.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 8,000 Palestinians — including 3,300 children — have been killed during Israel’s bombing campaign.
