‘Not Acceptable!’ CBS News Reporter Blasts Karine Jean-Pierre Over Biden’s Health in Off-the-Rails Briefing

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and CBS News correspondent Ed O’Keefe got into a tense exchange at a wild Monday press briefing where O’Keefe grilled her about reports of a neurologist visiting the White House eight times in eight months.

The New York Times reported Monday that Parkinson’s expert Dr. Kevin Cannard has visited the White House eight times from July 2023 through March of this year. There is no confirmation that Cannard was there to see the president or someone else and Jean-Pierre would also not confirm anything at a press briefing, leading to frustration from O’Keefe.

“That much you should be able to answer at this point,” O’Keefe said after Jean-Pierre would only tell the room that Biden has seen a neurologist three times over the course of his presidency as part of his annual physical.

“No, wait a minute. Ed, please,” Jean-Pierre said to a frustrated O’Keefe. “A little respect here, please.”

Jean-Pierre again cited Biden being seen three times by doctors and said she could not confirm anything about the Times report due to security reasons regarding giving out names of doctors and specialists.

“Did Dr. Kevin Cannard come to the White House to examine the president’s condition?” O’Keefe asked.

The reporter had also asked White House spokesperson John Kirby if information was “withheld” from Biden after a certain hour at night, citing another Times report suggesting Biden wants events scheduled earlier so he can get proper rest. The reports come amid Biden’s insistence he’s staying in the race while some in his own party call for him to step down.

“We cannot share names!” Jean-Pierre said again, with both O’Keefe and Kelly O’Donnell pushing back on this, noting that the visitor log is public.

“It’s public! I looked it up right before we came out here. It’s right there for anyone to see!” O’Keefe said, continuing to ask if the president had been examined.

“Ed, I hear you, I cannot from here confirm any of that because we have to keep their privacy. I think they would appreciate that too,” Jean-Pierre said.

O’Keefe accused Jean-Pierre of insisting she answered the question while not giving an answer, something he predicted she’d clean up “in a few days.”

Jean-Pierre called O’Keefe’s behavior “not acceptable” and “inappropriate” and said she would not engage in an endless “back and forth.”

“I am not going to do that, Ed. It doesn’t matter how hard you push me. It doesn’t matter how angry you get with me. I’m not going to confirm a name,” she said. “It doesn’t matter if it’s even in the log. I am not going to do that from here.”
