Marjorie Taylor Greene Wildly Claims She Will ‘Soon’ Reveal ‘Proof’ Trump’s 2020 Votes Were ‘Lost in The Mail’

Controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told MAGA influencer Steve Bannon on Thursday that she has “proof” that votes for Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election in Georgia were “lost in the mail.”

“In 2020, when absentee ballot voting was at its highest. And so when President Trump got on the phone with our secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, and said, ‘can you find the votes? Where are they?’ He was basically looking for ballots, and these ballots have been lost in the mail,” Greene said, referring to Trump’s infamous call pressuring Georgia election officials to overturn the result in the state.

“And so there was nothing wrong with Trump, with what President Trump said. As a matter of fact, I think he’ll be vindicated easily by a lot of the work that I’m doing and the proof that I’ll be showing pretty soon,” Greene concluded.

Greene later added that she’s investigating the “failures of the post office and how many absentee ballots do not get counted because they come in late. And this is something that I’m working on very hard with some election offices across the state. And it’s more I’ve got to deliver to you at a later time when I have the numbers.”

Bannon, Trump’s former 2016 campaign manager, chuckled a bit and replied, “But but I know, I know, I know you want to get the facts. Are you telling this audience the most powerful audience in all MAGA, that there are issues with the primary that really haven’t been disclosed yet, that there are issues with mail in ballots in the Georgia primary? Is that what you’re telling us?”

Greene doubled down on her claims, which have been widely debunked by courts and audits across the country, concluding that “based on 2022 and 2020, these absentee ballots cannot be trusted because the Post Office is not delivering them. Now, the question as to why the Post Office is not delivering them is a whole ‘nother issue.”

Greene, in the past, has spun many baseless conspiracy theories based on tragic events including claiming fires in California were caused by Jewish-controlled space lasers, questioning if a plane really hit the Pentagon on 9/11, and has long suggested that mass shootings are false flag operations.

Veteran political journalist Dave Weigel offered a quick fact check of Greene’s claims regarding Trump’s phone call to Raffensperger, which is certain to figure prominently in his upcoming trial in Georgia. “This is completely backwards. As first reported by @AmyEGardner, Trump wanted ballots already counted for Biden to be disqualified, until he (Trump) took the lead again,” Weigel noted.
