CNN’s S.E. Cupp Blasts ‘Yet Another Hard-to-Watch Biden Event,’ Says ‘It’s Political Malpractice’ to Stay in Race

CNN political commentator S.E. Cupp was unimpressed with President Joe Biden’s press conference on Thursday and reiterated her position that he should not be the Democratic presidential nominee.

Biden held a presser that lasted 59 minutes. Near the beginning, he mistakenly called Vice President Kamala Harris “Vice President Trump” in a gaffe that received mockery from former President Donald Trump.

The press conference came after a NATO summit in Washington, D.C., where hours earlier, Biden referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “President Putin.” Biden was asked about the flub by a reporter and laughed it off.

The president stumbled on occasion during the presser, though the performance was not nearly as bad as last month’s presidential debate with Trump. Biden’s outing in that contest startled Democrats on Capitol Hill, a handful of whom have publicly called on him to drop his reelection bid.

Afterward, Cupp weighed in, calling it difficult to watch.

“Yet another hard-to-watch Biden event,” she said. “I’m not sad and I’m not laughing at it. I’m actually pretty mad. I’m mad at Joe Biden and Democrats because I gave them my first Democratic vote in 2020 with the express understanding and promise that he would be a one-term president put there to get Trump out. He did it. That’s why I voted for him. He said he’d be a bridge.”

Cupp said Biden is simply “too old to run again” and that Democrats had insisted the president can defeat Trump again.

“Neither of those things are true,” she continued. “He cannot do another four years. He cannot beat Donald Trump. I feel a bit hoodwinked and I’m angry.”

She concluded by saying that Biden remaining in the race is “infuriating, irresponsible, and it’s political malpractice.”
