‘That’s False!’ Biden Spox Tells CNN Biden Is Not Weighing Dropout After New Report

Biden-Harris Principal Deputy Campaign Manager Quentin Fulks emphatically hit back at a new report saying President Joe Biden is weighing whether to “drop out” of the presidential race, telling CNN “That’s false!”

Calls for President Biden to drop out have dominated post-debate coverage after a performance against former President Donald Trump that even Biden has acknowledged was poor.

And on Wednesday morning, Katie Rogers of the New York Times dropped a report headlined “Biden Told Ally That He Is Weighing Whether to Continue in the Race” that featured quotes from an unnamed “key ally” saying the president recognizes his coming events need to go well.

The White House denied the report and complained they weren’t contacted. White House Senior Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates wrote “This claim is absolutely false and if we had been given more than 7 minutes we could have communicated this before it was publicized.”

On Wednesday’s edition of CNN Newsroom, Fulks categorically denied the president is weighing an exit from the race:
