Power in positive reinforcement
Peter Courtney, 81 and his wife Deborah Perry, 83 have been married for 38 years—they have known each other longer than that. The couple lives at Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing in Springfield. Perry is a retired hospice nurse, but she is now the one receiving care, from her husband, who told The Republican, dementia is causing her to lose her memory. She forgets both special and ordinary events in their lives, he said.
