Strawberry-Rhubarb-Basil Lemonade, Boissons et cocktails

    Ingredients

    8 portions.

    • 500 ml (2 cups) Québec rhubarb
    • 500 ml (2 cups) Québec strawberries
    • 1.5 l (6 cups) water
    • 60 ml (1/4 cup) maple syrup
    • 2 lemons and/or limes (zest and juice)
    • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) basil or mint

    Preparation

    1. Clean and chop the rhubarb into approximately de 1 cm lengths.
    2. Wash, trim and cut the strawberries into quarters. Set aside in a bowl.
    3. Mix the water and the syrup together in a large pot. Bring to a boil and add the rhubarb and strawberries.
    4. Let simmer for 5 minutes, then add the lemon/lime zest and the herbs.
    5. Pour the mixture into a sieve over a bowl without pressing. Allow the juice to completely drain into the bowl. Add the lemon/lime juice. Serve in a large pitcher with ice.
    6. Garnish the glasses with sliced strawberries and a few basil or mint leaves.
