Atwater Market's Pedestrianisation

All news Atwater Market's Pedestrianisation

Since May 15, the Sud-Ouest Borough has pedestrianized Place du Marché in order to promote physical distance and thus contribute to the health and safety of citizens. Come and support your local merchants and producers with us!

The following street segments(in red and in yellow) are therefore no longer accessible to cars:
  • Atwater Avenue, between Rufus-Rockhead Street and Charles-Biddle Street;
  • Sainte-Émilie Street, which became the exterior market;
  • Saint-Ambroise Street, between Greene Avenue and Atwater Avenue;
  • Charles-Biddle Street, between Atwater Avenue and Lévis Street (which will become a two-way street).

There will be no change for market users who travel by bicycle, on foot or by public transit. Cars will however have to go through Greene Avenue, the entrance of which is just before the tunnel, to get to the two parking lots on Saint-Ambroise Street(in purple). You will still be able to use the parking lot located in front of Super C and the SAQ to come and shop at Marché Atwater.

The Atwater Avenue pickup area(in blue) will always be at your disposal for the duration of the security measures.

UNIVERSAL ACCESSIBILITY TO THE MARKET

The market remains accessible to all. Pitches for people with reduced mobility are available in the parking lot on Greene Avenue, with a lift nearby. For security reasons, it will be locked to facilitate the visitor account, but our team will be able to unlock it for anyone who wishes to use it.
