Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was a first-round pick in both the 2023 NFL Draft and fantasy football leagues, but besides a few highlight plays, he has been underwhelming for both . Fear not, though, because Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported on Saturday that the rookie will get a lot more touches in the latter half of the season.

Robinson, 21, will continue to improve, not only this season, but throughout the rest of his career. Rookies are known for getting better as their first year progresses, and Russini is reporting just that.

"Don't give up on Robinson, because the Falcons haven't," Russini wrote. "He's not in the doghouse. He's not hurt. He's not in a funk. He's just a rookie the team is hoping to encourage, protect and lean on during the second half of the season."

Falcons head coach Arthur Smith has received the lion's share of the blame for Robinson's inconsistency and has seemingly listened to his critics.

"Robinson is in line to see plenty of opportunities, I'm told, including in the red zone," Russini added. "One source shared, 'We are confident we will see the best of him down the stretch."'

Forget about the Bijan Robinson 'illness game'

Some fantasy owners are also looking to trade Robinson due to the strange illness that kept him off the field for most of the game in their Week 7 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Falcons did not disclose Robinson's illness, leaving fantasy owners and the NFL with a ton of questions, but just forget all that.

Robinson has 103 carries for 517 rushing yards and a touchdown this season. He also caught a couple of TDs and is a dangerous fantasy weapon in PPR leagues.

His best statistical performance was in Week 8 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Robinson had 19 carries for 124 yards in a 25-24 win. Sticking with the explosive RB this long just to drop him right before booming would be irresponsible, to say the least.
