Mauricio Pochettino expects Marc Cucurella to be available for Chelsea's Carabao Cup fixture with AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday, despite transfer interest from Manchester United.

United are still exploring the possibility of making further recruits to their three signings of Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund in the last four days of the transfer window. Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is expected to complete a £5m move from Fenerbahce while a new midfielder remains a possibility.

The club is also considering signing a new left-back as Luke Shaw is sidelined for two months with a muscular injury while Tyrell Malacia is also injured. United have been scanning the Spanish market for a potential stop-gap with Tottenham's Sergio Reguilon, Barcelona's Marcos Alonso and Chelsea's Cucurella all under consideration.

The London club spent a massive £62m to snare the 25-year-old from Brighton last summer but he endured a difficult debut season at Stamford Bridge and is now out of favour under new boss Pochettino, who favours Ben Chilwell at wingback. However, Pochettino believes Cucurella will be available to him on Wednesday.

"I cannot talk about supposition or rumours," the Argentine said. "For tomorrow he is going to be able to play.

"The club did not communicate to me. All of the players in the squad are in our plans. It's about situations, players and club, club and players. All of the players that are in our squad are in our plans even if they didn't play at the moment."

When asked about the possibility of outgoings in general, Pochettino replied: "I am not involved in these situations. I am focused on the team.

"That is between the club and the player. Nobody communicated that something is finished. When something is done the club will communicate to you."
