Manchester United will accelerate their efforts to sign Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina, according to reports.

Erik ten Hag is open to adding another midfielder to his ranks and the club have monitored Amrabat's situation at Fiorentina. However, despite selling Fred, further sales would be required before a move materialises.

Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay's futures at Old Trafford are less than certain. Any exit could accelerate a move for Amrabat.

However, Italian outlet La Nazione claim the Moroccan midfielder could arrive in Manchester 'within the next few hours' to complete a move from Fiorentina to the Premier League. That would come as a surprise despite the midfield struggles against Wolves.

In other news, according to German reporter Florian Plettenberg, as cited by The Peoples Person, the prospect of former United goalkeeper David de Gea joining Bayern Munich is now 'off'.

It had been claimed that the German outfit were exploring the prospect of signing the former Reds shot-stopper after his exit from Old Trafford earlier this summer. He was among a cluster of goalkeepers being considered to cover for Manuel Neuer during his period of absence through injury.
