Former Manchester United midfielder Fred rejected offers to stay in the Premier League because he wanted to win trophies.
Fred signed for Fenerbahce for €15million (£12.93m) earlier this month and he made the move to Turkey despite interest from Fulham, whose manager Marco Silva was pictured talking to him after the sides played at Old Trafford last season.
There was also interest from Saudi Arabia, but he completed his move to Fenerbahce on August 13 and he sent a heartfelt message to fans on social media, thanking them for their support throughout his time in Manchester.

In an interview with Sporx, Fred has now expanded on his decision to join Fenerbahce by admitting he wanted to win trophies.
"I am very happy to be at this great club," he said. "I would like to thank our president and management for making great efforts to get me here. I am in a beautiful country. Everything is going well. I feel good. Everyone has welcomed me in the best way,
"Fenerbahce is a very big club. Other Turkish teams and some teams from England were also interested. There were some teams from different countries, but Fenerbahce told me about its project. I liked the projects and goals.
"They approached seriously. Our fans were also one of the reasons why I came. I am very happy. The fans create a great atmosphere at home games and I like it very much, so I hope it stays like this throughout the season.

"There were other clubs that were interested, my manager handled the process. There were some offers through my manager. The most important reason for me to come here was because they told me about the goals of the club.
"Okan also came to Manchester, I had the opportunity to talk to the two of them at length. They said they would build a strong team to win. I am also very ambitious even though I am 30 years old. I want to win many trophies.
"This club wanted to win and its strong squad was the reason why I came."
Sources at United said Fred departed 'with appreciation and respect for his big contribution to the team over the last five years'.
He made over 200 appearances for United and he contributed 14 goals and 19 assists.
