Manchester United travel to Brighton on Sunday as they eye European qualification in their final Premier League game of the season.

Erik ten Hag's side must beat the Seagulls and hope Newcastle drop points at Brentford to secure European football at Old Trafford for another campaign. Alternatively, they could ensure a place in next season's Europa League if they beat rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 25.

And several players have hinted they will feature in Sunday's game. Diogo Dalot, Casemiro and Antony are among the players to have put pre-match graphics of the match on their Instagram stories in a hint that they may start against Roberto de Zerbi's team.

Historically players who share the graphics have tended to be in the team come kick-off.

United will have been boosted by Wednesday's thrilling 3-2 win over the Magpies which has kept their European qualification hopes alive. Goals from Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund secured just a second win in the league since March.

With United's goal difference of minus three so poor compared to their rivals, seventh and a place in next season's Europa Conference League appears their best possibility, unless they win the FA Cup. When it was put to Ten Hag that it would be embarrassing for the club to qualify for Europe's third-tier competition, he said: "I never think in a negative scenario. We have the opportunity left in our own hands, so go for it."

It was put across that qualifying for the Conference League would increase the challenge of attracting the best players in the summer transfer market. "As I say, I’m a positive man and we have it in our own hands, so we have to go for it," he reiterated.

"I think, for every player, that Manchester United is a very attractive club and of course, you want to play at the highest levels. But if you want to go into a project in a club like Manchester United, I’m sure Manchester United is a very attractive club for every player."
