We are now at the halfway mark of the season and Manchester United will be assessing how their loanees have been faring so far.

One player is set to be recalled while another could be the subject of a permanent bid given his stint at his loan club. More players could be sent out on loan next month while others are set to stay away from the club until the summer.

United have benefited from an amazing product line over the years with some now mainstays in the first team such as Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. Some are not quite ready for that break just yet and so have been sent out to get some experience.

MEN Sport round up how United’s loanees have fared so far this campaign.

Brandon Williams - Ipswich

The full-back has played 16 matches for Championship high-flyers Ipswich, who are pushing for promotion. Williams made real progress up until October, featuring in every Championship he was available for.

He has found it hard to get regular game time since then, having enjoyed just 64 league minutes in December before his start against Queen’s Park Rangers on Friday.

Williams, who worked with boss Kieran McKenna when he was a youth coach at United, has largely played right-back although has played several games in his natural left-back role.

Mason Greenwood - Getafe

Greenwood has been in good form for Getafe, who are said to be keen on acquiring the attacker on a permanent basis. Five goals and four assists in 15 games have impressed club figures with the forward starting every La Liga match since September.

Alvaro Fernandez - Granada

The left-back is enduring a miserable season with Granada, who are battling relegation in La Liga. Fernandez has started five of his 13 matches but is yet to win any of them and has failed to keep a clean sheet so far.

Will Fish - Hibernian

The defender has not missed a single minute of Premiership action for Hibernian this season and scored his first goal of the campaign against Aberdeen earlier this month. Seven clean sheets in 27 matches is not a bad return for a 20-year-old either.

Charlie McNeill - Stevenage

McNeill’s spell at Stevenage has not worked out as planned. Despite scoring on debut, the striker has not played since September and has not been included in the matchday squad since October.

United are unsurprisingly planning to recall the youngster, who has made just four appearances after joining on a season-long loan.
