We knew that they were great friends, but we never realised that Tracy Barlow and Mary Taylor made a fab singing duo until tonight's Coronation Street.

Florist Tracy was belting out I Know Him So Well in her florist shop when co-worker Mary decided to join in on the ballad - and viewers were well impressed with their duet.

TV writer Andy Gibson suggested: "Tracy and Mary for The X Factor!"

And another Corrie watcher suggested that they would do well to represent us on the Eurovision Song Contest after the scenes written by Damon Rochefort.

One viewer praised on Twitter: "A great duet with Tracy and Mary."

And another cheered: "More of this!"

The song, a duet from the musical Chess written by Abba legends Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, was oriiginally performed by Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson.

It was covered by Whitney and Cissy Houston and Steps, and also by Bolton comic Peter Kay and Britain's Got Talent finalist Susan Boyle for a hilarious Comic Relief sketch.

But one viewer said: "Mary and Tracy. Better than Peter Kay and Susan Boyle."

High praise indeed.
