Generations of Manchester families have enjoyed trips to the cinema for decades. And many picturehouses have come and gone in Manchester over the years, with some sadly being reduced to rubble.
Now, the MEN has unearthed a selection of photos that are sure to bring back memories. Taken between 1954 and 1995, the photos below include cinemas in Stockport, Bolton, Rochdale, Hyde and Oldham.
Some show iconic exteriors, others capture the owners, staff and passers-by.
