One of the main roads in and out of Manchester was closed after a crash late on Monday night. The A6 Stockport Road at Danforth Grove is shut in both directions.
It is understood the crash involved an Audi that was being pursued by police from Cheshire. Sources at the scene say the Audi was involved in a collision with a Mercedes Benz at around 10pm. Witnesses report that one person was seen being arrested.
A number of police officers are still in attendance. While it is not currently known if any injuries have been reported, it is understood there have been no reports of ambulances being seen at the scene.
The road had reportedly reopened by around 1.40am. No further information is currently available. Scroll down for updates as we get them

Vehicle on fire after crash
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said they were called to reports of a crash on Stockport Road in Burnage.
A GMFRS spokesperson said, “At around 10:30pm this evening (Monday 10th October), firefighters were called to reports of a crash on Stockport Road in Burnage. One fire engine from Whitehill fire station quickly arrived at the scene, and firefighters extinguished a small vehicle fire. The crew left the scene at around 10:45pm."
'Road may be shut for a while'
The @manctraffic twitter account says the road "may be shut for a while". It reports there is no access between Marley Road and Hume Street.
