FLAG ETIQUETTE

Pursuant to authority outlined in the U.S. Code Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 7, the Governor of a State is authorized to proclaim that the National Flag be flown at half-staff. In the event that the flag is lowered, a notice is disseminated from the Governor's Press Office to local media outlets for broadcasts, as well as posted on the Governor's website.
