We ordered 4000 of them. They're under $1100 at our negotiated CDW price at the 16g RAM/256g SSD configuration with the dual USBc charger, and it cuts our "entry level" Mac cost almost in half. Allows us to offer platform choice to any team that doesn't leverage a Windows-specific workflow/app... which are very few in number. It driving 2 external displays is a very big deal to our Desktop/ServiceDesk teams. They don't care about M2 Pro vs M3 vs M4. They cared about it working with 25,000 USB-C docks in the org and lighting up both monitors.

Enterprise lives and dies on $1100 MacBook Airs and $300 64gb iPad 10th gens.

This might be a good deal except we're probably a matter of months away from an M4 MacBook Air. ?
I guess. I really wonder in practice how much different the actual experience of using an M3 vs M4 Air would be.

Hell, I'm using an M1 Air and it's not exactly holding me back from doing all the basic laptop stuff (office things, email, web stuff) very smoothly -- and even doing some graphic design. I guess if I was pushing the envelope harder I'd notice more?

I guess the one wildcard here is, what AI features will come out this year and how much better will they work on the M4? I could see that being the one thing that finally makes my M1 Air feel slow, if stuff I want to do starts getting laggy and slow.

People are clearly sick of high prices. Even Target announced cutting price on over 5k popular products. Best laptop on the market but unfortunately soured consumers.

Apple should have waited until WWDC to release M4 MacBook Airs?

I must've missed the M4 MacBook Air release announcement.
