Apple really needs to cut the prices for storage upgrades and/or start higher than 256gb. $200 can buy you a top-of-the-line 2tb SSD, or an extra 256gb on an Apple device.

Keep in mind, this is also with the single 512GB chip, so drastically slower SSD speeds.
This is incorrect. The 512GB model of the Air uses 2x 256GB chips.

The 512GB M2 MBPs have one chip.

And they need to quit skimping on the unified memory. My MacBook Pro from 2015 had 8GB of RAM. There is no reason to not have at least have 16GB as the base 8 years later.

Comments that M2 MBA is not worth buying are ridiculous. I have a base model that I bought at BBY when they were running the $999 sale. It's a great machine. Alternative to a high end iPad for me. I recommend it 100%. Note: I also have a base M1P MBP which is better in some ways but not others. MBA is a terrific machine for anyone who wants to do basic stuff, appreciates the light weight and the battery life is terrific.
