I almost upgraded from an 8 to a 14 until I realized I'd be stuck with Lightning for years to come. Now I'm just waiting for the 15 and USB-C for no other reason other than that.

Oh look, the nasty Apple pundit obsessed with politics. This Guy is a total clown. Used to be a great read, but
He went crazy during the Trump years.

I don’t know about changing the iPhone name to ultra sounds meh
I really don’t like Apple’s product and marketing names lately.

Apple TV, Apple TV Plus, Apple TV app, is just confusing for even some Apple enthusiasts on the forum, so probably even worse for the non-techies. Lost count how many people on the forum made comments about not needing a new ATV because they already have ATV built into their Smart TV.

The “Pro” is overused for Apple products, and when it comes to the M1 Max Macs, it just sounds ridiculous when spoken out loud.

The iPad “Air” kind of lost its meaning.

Ultra might as well be a thing.

I am just waiting for the Mac Pro replacement, the M3 Ultra Max Pro Mac Pro….Air.

Have to say, this is the biggest story for Apple lately that I've seen:

https://gizmodo.com/apple-iphone-privacy-analytics-class-action-suit-1849774313

If this is true (they did testing apparently) - the amount of damage to Apple's brand and bottom line is hard to estimate (with Apple getting so many Android users to shift over to iOS over the last 5 years and perceived privacy in comparison being a huge part of that).

"The suit ('https://www.bloomberglaw.com/public/desktop/document/LibmanvAppleIncDocketNo522cv07069NDCalNov102022CourtDocket?1668197884'), filed Thursday in California federal court, comes days after Gizmodo exclusively reported ('https://gizmodo.com/apple-iphone-analytics-tracking-even-when-off-app-store-1849757558') on research into how multiple iPhone apps send Apple analytics data, regardless of whether the iPhone Analytics privacy setting is turned on or off. The problem was spotted by two independent researchers at the software company Mysk, who found that the Apple App Store sends the company exhaustive information about nearly everything a user does in the app, despite a privacy setting, iPhone Analytics, which claims to "disable the sharing of Device Analytics altogether" when switched off." The problem persisted across Apple Music, Apple TV, Books, and Stocks.

We've all watched, with increasing uneasiness, Apple embracing the services / advertising angle hoping it doesn't lead them down the sewer hole of becoming a lower end version of Google - cause its always more profits the more you exploit the user's trust (i.e. its not going to get better - beyond the CEO having a moment and throwing it all out). The sad thing is beyond doing a ROM yourself over on an Android phone for crazy privacy, Apple was it for the normal user on this end.

With the eventual name changes, it would make sense to me to rename the AirPods Max to AirPods Ultra. For some reason that makes more sense. Or am I just crazy?
