Developers can download the tvOS 16.2 beta by downloading a profile onto the Apple TV using Xcode.

tvOS updates are often minor in scale, focusing on internal bug fixes and improvements rather than notable outward-facing changes, but there are some noteworthy features in the tvOS 16.2 update. It adds support for the new Home app architecture, which is designed to make Home setups faster and more reliable.

tvOS 16.2 also adds a new Siri voice recognition feature, allowing the ‌Apple TV‌ to recognize each person in the household by voice, swapping over to the appropriate profile. This makes it easier to switch between ‌Apple TV‌ users, getting to the correct music, TV shows, recommendations, and more. Voice recognition supports up to six family members.

Hoping this update fixes compatibility with my tv and soundbar, which I have not been able to control with the ATV remote since the first 16.2 Beta. I've tried resetting, retraining etc, but I push the button on the remote, the white light flashes on the ATV, but nothing happens on the TV or the Soundbar. It's not the end of the world but it is annoying.
Try holding down the Vol Up and Menu buttons for 5 seconds. That should reconnect the remote and maybe fix the issue. I had the same problem after updating but this did the trick after 30 minutes of fiddling around.

tvOS updates are often minor in scale
I'm thinking it's about time Apple redoubled their efforts on tvOS, and brought the kind of "ooh, that's a nice/useful feature" feeling to the platform that previous updates to iOS, macOS and watchOS have supplied.

Make it extra worthwhile to add one to your Apple-centric home, instead of mostly being a way to get smoother performance than the 'smart TV' app version of tv.
