"Always" is relative in this case. A year ago, it was $330, and finally went on sale for $300 in some circles (I got mine around Nov. 2021).

Any particular "killer features" you can suggest we hold out for? For $280, seems to be a steal for someone who's shopping more on price than "having the latest and greatest". Hell, iPod Touches were announced to be done with many months back, but having a larger screen and fairly good specs is an incredible value compared to those! And, at this price, the iPad is actually cheaper!
The killer feature is you might find that fashion iPad for a lower price than $280 when the new one is released. Maybe it will be $265. It was $20 dollars cheaper today and it all of a sudden became a great buy so maybe it will go down another $15.
