I asked why, not should I. I have a Roku stick so what would I get with an Apple TV that my much cheaper Roku stick already providess?
Asking rhetorical questions then lash out… one big reason is take some time and read about the privacy dumpster fire that Roku is. If that’s not important to you then ok.

Why should I buy one when I have a Roku stick?
If you care about privacy you'll avoid Roku because it's a massive spyware disaster just like the amazon stick, the ATV is not, but disregarding that stuff the ATV is just a better device than both, faster than both, more simple layout, better device all the way around.

Wow! Bite my head off.

I've always thought the picture quality and playback controls of Apple TV have always been superior. Plus. the 4K upgrades you get for your already purchased content are great. I can also build stuff to mine. Like on one AppleTV in my house I build the Provenance emulator to place old school games.

Also, I SharePlay to my Apple TV when watching with friends.

Still way more expensive than an Amazon fire tv cube or stick with much the same capability. Apple price themselves out of the mainstream market and by the time these deals come out, people have already found an alternative.
