I want one of these so bad but other than the financial side of things I keep going back to this: my base M1 Air is more than enough for what I need it to do. In some ways that probably says something about my material cravings and my simple workflow that doesn't need anything too power. But, I think this is an important point I keep going back to—the base M1 Air is surely the best bang-for-my-buck purchase in 19 years of being a Mac owner.

Welp, my wallet is about to hate me. However, the upgrade will be big for me (2016 rMB to the 14" MBP).

I tested it out in the store a few times and became more impressed each time.
