Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Now Available on iPhone and iPad

Square Enix has released a remastered version of classic roleplaying game Final Fantasy VIII for iPhone and iPad.

Final Fantasy VIII originally launched on PlayStation way back in 1999, and while its predecessor is considered the true classic in video game history, the eighth installment in the franchise still sold more than 9.6 million units worldwide.

This port for iOS and Android is of the remastered version, which came to consoles including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam in 2019.

As a remaster, it features updated visuals and character models, as well as new in-game features including Battle Assist, which maxes out your hit points, an option to turn off enemy encounters except big event battles, and a speed boost feature that lets you play through the game at three times the default speed.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is available for ‌iPhone‌ and ‌iPad‌ as a one-off purchase, costing $16.99 for a limited time. After April 4, the price increases to $20.99. [Direct Link] Note that the app requires approximately 2.6GB to download, so make sure you download over Wi-Fi and you've got plenty of free storage space on your device, which will need to be running iOS 13 or later.

imho, once you reach 30 years old, you shouldn’t play any more video gaming.
Lol, what weird a weird arbitrary rule. The average age of a gamer is 35. Don't stop doing something you enjoy just because of your age.

++ I'm 49 years old and hold my own against kids 1/3 my age in online multiplayer. I've played in competitive, for-money matches and won. Drawing arbitrary lines in the sand about who should be a "gamer" is beyond absurd. And yes, I have a job (own a business), and a family. I *make* time for gaming.

By the same token, I'm sure Apple expects someone like me to be placated by the third-rate indie studio cast-offs they want people to pay $4.99 a month for. No thanks. Gamers come in all ages, all abilities, all ambitions.

FF 8 is one of the most LETDOWN video game, for me personally, in history. FF 7 was so damn awesome. When FF 8 came down, I woke up early that day and went to pick my preorder in the store..went home and played the next 15 straight hours..the first disc was very good..however beginning 2nd disc on it’s starting to sucked so bad..overall the story was dumb, mechanic of the game also dumb..graphics did look improved over FF7 I give them that..FF9 returned with a smash hit but graphics returns to cartoonish..now I’ve retired from video gaming..too old. imho, once you reach 30 years old, you shouldn’t play any more video gaming.
Who says you shouldn't play video games in your thirties?

Being successful is about being free to do whatever the F you want.

I've built two businesses and have no boss or alarm clock, so I'll continue gaming into my fourties, thanks!
