I already have to live with enough spy devices, I can hold off on one more.
Which is precisely why I use Apple rather than Google or Amazon.

To be fair, it took a whistleblower to disclose that Apple had a whole floor of human contractors listening to failed Siri interactions voice recordings.

That's why Apple now asks you if you want to share diagnostic voice recordings with them because before they gave you no choice.

That was highly shady and broke my trust with Apple. I take what they say with a grain of salt these days.

I totally get that, but at least the recordings were anonymized. Google and Amazon save recordings indefinitely and keep them linked to your account.

Apple does their own spying, sorry to pop that bubble.
Nope. Internally, Apple does everything it can to keep your collected data not associated to your account. Unless of course you give them the permission to do otherwise.

How is that convenient? Apple and most other tech manufacturers do not include the power cord in product photos.
My opinion, but Apple markets HomePods as omnidirectional speakers. In advertising they show them sitting in the center of a room and/or the center of a table. They look great! In reality, you're going to put them along the edge of a room like every other device you own.

I'm a grumpy old man. Ignore me.
