"Truth Be Told," an Apple TV+ series starring Octavia Spencer and Aaron Paul, has been renewed for a second season, Apple announced today.

The show was originally planned as a limited series, but was also designed to work for a multi-season run, with each season focusing on a new story with new characters.

Octavia Spencer will be in the second season of the show as podcaster Poppy Parnell, but the main storyline will cover a new case. The first season followed Parnell as she worked to reopen a murder case that made her a national sensation and brought her face-to-face with the man (Warren Cave, played by Aaron Paul) she may have mistakenly helped put behind bars.

"Octavia's performance and Nichelle's story struck a chord with audiences," said Matt Cherniss, head of development, Apple Worldwide Video. "We are proud of this powerful show and the incredible team behind it, and look forward to a second season."

Apple released the first season of "Truth Be Told" on December 19, and all of the episodes are now available to stream. There's no word on when the second season will premiere.

Apple has renewed many of its shows for a second season, including "Little America," "Mythic Quest," "Dickinson," "See," "Servant," and "For All Mankind."

Haven’t watched this but I’m glad Mythic Quest was renewed. It was a lot better than I thought it would be and my wife also enjoyed it. I also think For All Mankind was interesting and slowly getting better as it ventured more into the sci-fi side of things as the timeline diverged from reality.
Same here, Mythic Quest is great. Only have episode 9 to go.

As has been mentioned a few times before in other threads, the ‘standalone’ episode was fabulous! Really impressed at what they achieved with that one, particlularly given the 30 minute run-time!

I’ve only watched the first episode of For All Mankind so far and I’m really looking forward to the rest of them - just haven’t had the time to watch!

This one is in the Up Next queue for me as well - keen to see what Octavia Spencer does in the role.

I thought the actor was fine, but I can't stand the character. Which could be a sign that the actor did a good job!
Yeah, difficult to separate one from the other. But I think we are supposed to like the character? Or at least empathize with her? But there was essentially nobody likable in the four episodes I watched before giving up.

I only made it through 3 or 4 episodes before I lost interest. I didn't like the lead actor, or her character for that matter.
