I suspect we will see more of these sales now. This might be Plan B for Apple’s higher pricing across the board. They save face by not making official price cuts, while retailers still get to pick up the sales.

I’ve thought that as well, they’ve done that with other products — many other retailers offering good discounts on new products, while Apple themselves hold out

The $599 BHPhoto deal for a 12.9" 64GB LTE iPad Pro is pretty great - better than the same spec used iPads go for on Swappa.
