I love what apple has done with logic. It's one of the products with which they've done their best. -- at least in the sense that it's probably the best value pro music production app; filled with high quality processors and instruments.

I wasn't sure what to think when they bought it from emagic all those years ago. While it was neck and neck with cubase and cakewalk back in the day, it's now definitely a step above that competition.

Pro tools is still more widely used in top studios, but I believe that has more to do with legacy since a decade ago computers needed extra cards with DSP chips to handle large projects; and what's more, Pro tools is only preferred by many of those who are recording and editing live music rather than having a electronic production focus.

And... for what it's worth, GarageBand is nothing short of remarkable for its price: $0.00

Logic is BY FAR the best Apple App ever made. The power coupled with the ease of use and easy pairing with GarageBand are second to none. I remember when Logic 7 was $1000 and it was confusing as hell to boot. Then in Logic 8 they made it more "GarageBand Like" and that's when I bit. Of course when they did this a lot of "Pros" whined that they were making it "too much like GarageBand". Nope, the power was still there and today, far exceeds LP7. And only $500 for LP8 seemed like a great deal because it was 1/2 the price of Logic 7 and a LOT better. But I still had to buy all 5 jam packs individually at about $100 a pop. THEN...they lowered the price to $200 and threw in all the JamPacks for free...ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!???? So it went from about $1500 for the functionality in LP7 to $200 in LP9/10!!! And with all the new features since LP8 (Flex pitch, Flex time, new synths, drummer, etc.), it is BY far the best DAW on the market. Great Job Apple!!! And appreciate the love for this amazing Pro App. :):D

Damn! I hope beta 3 comes soon and fixes it. I got people getting after me to start their production, as well as in the middle of recording an EP myself >.<
Don’t use beta software in the midst of projects!
