Twitter iOS App Gains 'Highlights' Notifications Feature

Twitter has begun rolling out its opt-in Highlights feature to all iOS users.

The feature notifies users via push notifications (up to two a day) about the most interesting content from Twitter, tailored just for them.

Highlights are based on a number of different factors, says Twitter, including but not limited to: Conversations among people users follow and popular tweets from their accounts, as well as trends, news, and personalized topics.

The Highlights feature, which has been available on Android for some time, began rolling out to iOS users on Monday. To enable it, Twitter account holders should tap on the gear icon in the Twitter app, tap Notifications, followed by Mobile notifications, and toggle the "on" button next to Highlights.

I have three Twitter accounts associated with my iOS App, this was the worst new "feature" I've ever seen, and a complete waste of time. Opted out immediately, though it never should have been enabled without my permission in the first place.

i think you mean "opt out."

i definitely had to opt out on both of my accounts when i got notifications from both regarding this "feature."

I have several Twitter accounts for what I do, and this new feature just started blowing up my phone a couple days ago with notifications. So annoying. Luckily it was an easy opt-out for every single one. Wish there was a way to opt-in to those kinds of things when signing up for an account that way by default you don't get any of that stuff.
