T-Mobile has announced that qualifying Simple Choice postpaid customers will automatically receive free unlimited data at up to 4G LTE speeds throughout Brazil until September 18, enabling visitors to celebrate the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro without worrying about roaming charges.

The carrier is also offering free calls within Brazil and to the United States until September 18, while unlimited texting to over 140 countries remains free.

Additionally, T-Mobile continues to offer families of U.S. athletes free T-Mobile service and a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and Samsung Gear 360 camera. Those who qualify can email RoamFreeInRio@t-mobile.com to get up to two free smartphones per athlete activated for the 2016 Rio Games.

The promotion previously ran until the end of August for the 2016 Olympic Games.

Might be making the switch to the Un-carrier very soon. Checked coverage and it seems great by my house. My work is a little iffy, but there is WIFI. Plus I would save $80 a month on a family plan
I run a business from my phone and travel internationally. I save $100's of dollars a month. It's awesome when you land in another country and get a text letting you know that you have unlimited internet, unlimited texting and calls back home will be $0.20 a minute or free with WiFi calling. No sim card swapping. No services to purchase. The phone works worldwide.

No reception issues outside of rural areas. In fact, I drop fewer calls now in Chicago area versus AT&T. Indoor reception has improved a lot lately. You can't go wrong.

I have to say that T-Mobile has been quite aggressive in their campaign advertising lately, making a lot of interesting offers to new customers. The expansion of their network helps a lot too. Though, I have an AT&T tower up the street from my home and I'm almost always on Wifi, so I don't see me switching away anytime soon.

Net neutrality concerns aside I LOVE listening to this man.
Also a very charismatic guy, a real joy to watch his videos. I watch them even though they don't affect me.

Only gripe with his content is that I always get jelly over here in Germany, his parent company should take some notes ffs...

Just switched to T-Mobile at the beginning of this week, after being with AT&T for so long. Really do love all the deals that they give (net neutrality concerns notwithstanding).

That said, I feel that they should spent more time and effort towards improving and expanding their network coverage at this point. It wouldn't be as flashy for ads but at the end of the day T-Mobile's a cellular network service. Being able to Binge-On YouTube doesn't matter much if I don't have the network for it! :)

Providing free phones and service to olympian families is very generous of t-mobile. I don't see other carriers stepping up to the plate and doing something nice for families. Samsung is giving away free Galaxy S7 Edge phones to all 12,500 olympians. I think that is very commendable and certainly deserves recognition.
