EA has announced SimCity BuildIt for iOS, bringing another iteration of the ultra-popular PC game franchise to Apple's mobile devices. Like the other titles in the series, SimCity BuildIt allows players to build and maintain a city through the construction of businesses, houses, government buildings, roads, and more.

The choices you make evolve your city in a variety of ways. Meet your citizens’ needs to keep them happy, or make questionable choices and feel your citizens’ wrath.

The title will make use of the touchscreen on iOS devices by allowing players to pinch, zoom, and rotate around their city, as EA is promising "vivid 3D-quality graphics" for the game. SimCity BuildIt marks the second time that EA has released a SimCity game for iOS, as the company released SimCity Deluxe for the iPad in 2010. A Mac version of the latest SimCity title was also released last August.

EA has yet to announce a release date or pricing for SimCity BuildIt, however the company states that more details on features will be released soon.

Is this why the Mac/PC version was so rubbish? They wanted feature parity with iOS or something?

Either way, no sale EA. You're the worst.

I mistakenly bought the most recent SimCity. That was a mistake. I spent about a week playing it and then realised all of the fun was gone (was it there to begin with?). EA's treatment of SimCity is one of the most extreme examples of a bastardised franchise I've ever known. By some miracle, SC4 was great and the only game worth returning to (besides earlier offerings). This mobile version of SC looks to be another catastrophe waiting to happen and I've grown twice-shy - never making the same mistake again. Good riddance, Electronic Arts and rest in peace, Maxis.

Don't bother, it is a EA game, it going to be riddled with immense time delays that you have to pay for again and again and again and again... Oh, you want a newer power plant? PAY! oh, you want fire trucks? PAY!

Just look at what they did Dungeon Keeper.

More free to play nonsense. I love SimCity, but timers make it impossible to enjoy these games and I refuse to pay for disposable digital content.

Doesn't look good. They should just bring SimCity4 to iOS.

It was the last customizable Sim City, and that's why everyone still plays it a decade later.
