Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition will be released for the Mac on November 15, thanks to a collaboration between Beamdog, Atari, and Overhaul Games. The sequel to the popular Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is a remake of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and the expansion pack Throne of Bhaal.

Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition combines both Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Baldur’s Gate II: Throne of Bhaal. Bundled with the game on PC and Mac, and available as DLC on iPad and Android, are four diverse new characters, each with their own epic quest. Venture to the distant sands of Zakhara with your new companions, or lead them in a raid upon the home of the gods.

The game runs on the Infinity Enhanced Edition and along with four new characters, it also offers The Black Pits 2: Gladiators of Thay, multiplayer capabilities, and remastered artwork.

Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition can be pre-ordered for $24.95. It requires Mac OS X 10.6.8 and later, 2.5 GB of storage space, 512 MB of memory, and an Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent. An iOS version of the game is also in development and is listed as "Coming Soon."

and aren't buggered to hell like I hear Baldur's Gate EE was/is
That's debatable, BG1 was pretty damned buggy. Except for 1 side quest I couldn't complete and a bug related to using the BG2 engine that allowed the bypassing of a certain magical chest's security system... it has been fairly solid for me. For a modern game any crashes that occur are well-nigh unacceptable to most people (exception given to <1.0 releases), however I managed to get to the end without crashing once (including much of the side quests and all of the TotSC nonsense) which would have been unbelievable back in the day.

...and then just as I killed Sarevok it crashed. ...twice

It's also probably subsidizing or otherwise financially encouraging the development of iOS and Android releases, which is not something you can easily accomplish with virtual machines.

Turns out anything like the first Baldurs Gate enhanced they can keep it, still bugged and the last update was back in Febuary.

I enjoyed the iPad Baldur's Gate EE release, but it definitely had issues.

I'm beta testing the new patch foraldur's Gate Enhanced Edition / BGEE. It's MUCH better than the original release and, quite frankly, is what the enhanced edition should have been months ago. It sucks that they had to put development on hold for several months during the Atari bankruptcy, but things are definitely rolling again now.

The new user interface rewrite includes displaying scaling, new fonts & font rendering, new effects engine, etc, looks really nice. Nice to have Mac as a primary platform too.

Those requirements are crushing. Apart from the Core 2 Duo requirement, I think my eMac from last decade could run this.
Guessing the C2D requirement is only because it's a 64-bit binary. I first ran the game on a Pentium 4; its original requirements are not exactly steep.

As I understand it that's because the license for the IP was temporarily in turmoil. It was pulled from the App Store (all platforms) and came back about a month ago and the developer's future was somewhat in question. Hopefully this means there will be updates soon to come, as the dispute (with Atari, if I recall) has obviously been resolved.
